As we reflect on Hispanic Heritage Month and the many contributions TAG’s Latinx members have made to the animation industry, we take pride in recognizing the two women who hold the Guild’s highest positions of leadership: TAG President Jeanette Moreno King and TAG Vice President Teri Hendrich Cusumano.
“As a first-generation Mexican American, I’m proud to represent and advocate for our community in animation,” says King. “Our diverse voices and experiences are what push this industry forward, creating stories that resonate with people from all walks of life. It’s crucial that we continue to support and uplift Latinx talent, ensuring our perspectives are seen, heard, and celebrated.”
Hendrich, in turn, reflects on the more personal side of her journey: “My mom immigrated to the United States from Mexico in her late thirties. She brought along with her all the comforts of Mexican culture from the language she spoke to the food she would make for our family. I’m proud to have grown up with such a diverse background and to now be able to share that with the world through the work I do in animation, as well my union.”
Thank you President King and Vice President Hendrich for championing Latinx talent while leading the fight for fair wages and treatment for all animation workers.
