AI Committee
In March, the AI Committee prepared for its upcoming studio meeting with Amazon and planned meetings with DreamWorks and Sony after hearing reports about AI use. They also heard a pitch from a company that has a built-in tool that tracks when assets are used in AI company datasets. They will be testing the tool in the coming months to see if it’s ready for membership to utilize! Please send any reports of AI use in the industry to AI@tag839.org.
The AI committee meets weekly on Wednesdays at 1 p.m.

Production Committee
TAG’s newest craft committee has welcomed two new co-chairs, Abigail Bokun and Sharifa McCauley, to step up alongside Kay Tinder. During March, the committee doubled their attendance goal. Their Education Session for April will be focused on the basics of Contract Negotiations. They are in need of volunteers and sub-committee chairs for a range of tasks, from communications and research to community building. If you would like to join them to help fellow production workers be activated and ready to fight for their continued rights, email committee-production@tag839.org.
The Production Committee now has monthly meetings scheduled. All Union production staff are welcome to attend this Tues., Apr. 7 at 7 p.m. PST. Register here or email committee-production@tag839.org for more information.
Queer Tag (QT)
At QueerTAG’s monthly meeting in March, they fielded questions from members about the proposed dues increase, covering new dues will go and upcoming office hours with the executive board to ask more direct questions about the increase. QT Chair Andy Garner-Flexner organized the IATSE’s So-Cal Pride delegation for the WeHo Pride Parade, marking the third parade Andy has organized for TAG and other SoCal IATSE Locals. The QT Discord is gearing up for its annual Zine production. The Discord is open to all in the LGBTQIA+ community over 18+, but our Union members have channels dedicated just to them, and the committee will check with either the TAG office or the Unofficial TAG Discord to verify membership before allowing access to those channels.
Please email queertag@tag839.org for an invite to the private Discord server, and to all LGBTQA+ TAG members who wish to join.
Young Workers Committee (LA)
The Los Angeles’ chapter of the Young Workers Committee has been regrouping over the past few months to decide what events and reach-outs they will be pursuing over this year. Their first committee meeting will be held in April and is open to anyone interested in attending. As of this posting, the date is to be determined, but it will be held in person, and the committee would love to hear from members, especially those who are new, and learn what they would like to see from the YWC this year. The first brunch of the year will be on May 2 with a presentation by CalCare.

Young Workers Committee (NYC)
The NYC Young Workers Committee’s life drawing event at the Museum of Natural History had a great turnout last month. Several Negotiations Committee members were able to attend and catch members up on how negotiations are going. as well as answer questions. The Negotiations Committee has identified new, important ways for the unit to engage more effectively with TAG, and the Young Workers Committee hopes to help lead members to start their own committees and get more involved.
In April, the Young Workers Committee will be hosting a Super Smash Bros. Tournament at the Titmouse NY Studio. They will be giving out prizes to those who place in the top three and will be providing food and drinks for participants and spectators. If you would like to join the NYC Young Workers Committee, you can reach them at nycywc839@gmail.com.
