Robert Tyler, A graduate of Chouinard Art Institute, Tyler began working at Walt Disney Studios in the 1960s—one of the industry’s few African American artists. After more than 40 years in animation at studios including Hanna-Barbera and Warner Bros., he turned his talents to fine art.
Floyd Norman, A Walt Disney Legend, Norman is credited with being the first African American artist to work at Walt Disney Studios. His credits range from Sleeping Beauty to Mulan, and he continues to work as a consultant while exhibiting samples of his legendary animation work.
Christine Mallouf, The Visual Arts Director for L.A. Unified School District’s Conservatory of Fine Arts, Mallouf worked on Space Jam and The Iron Giant, among other movies. Her fine art includes painting, sculpture, basket-weaving, and ceramics.
Lureline Weatherly, Starting out in the animation industry in the 1970s, Weatherly still works at Disney Studios. Pursuing night courses at ArtCenter, Otis, and Parsons, she has been painting in oil, gouache, and acrylic for more than two decades.
