It’s the start of a new year and most of us couldn’t wait for the clock to strike midnight so we could welcome 2021. We asked a few Animation Guild members to share their WFH New Year’s resolutions. Here are some of their answers.
“My WFH-related resolution will be 1 minute of squat, 1 minute of plank and 1 minute of toe raises every day between meetings! I don’t have a special workout space. These static hold workouts are designed to be done in small spaces. I can do them right next to my desk. And yes, I am in a lot of meetings throughout the day. But I think artists should do the same thing… it’s so easy to just get glued to the computer all day. I am trying to get these smaller reachable goals, but I believe over time it will pay off!”—Nickie Huai, Digital Supervisor at Warner Bros. Animation
“My resolution for the new year while working remotely is to find a less hostile working environment that is not my kitchen table. Funny and sad all at the same time.”—Chad E. Cooper, BG Design/Layout supervisor on Bob’s Burgers
“My work from home resolution for 2021 is to include more physical activity into my daily routine whether it’s exercise, a walk or a simple stretch routine. Keep the circulation going!”—Kimson Albert, Animation Director at Cartoon Network
“Honestly I’d like to be more organized and disciplined about my own time and how I spend it, during and outside of work hours. It’s easy for my personal life and work to blend in, and I want to be more diligent about that, not necessarily completely separate them out. In a nutshell: Be more organized and disciplined about my schedule.”—Shweta Viswanathan, Associate Technical Supervisor at Walt Disney Animation Studios
