One of my earliest memories is reading Little Golden Books.  I loved how all the stories and illustrations were so diverse.  You could read a story you’d never heard before, and in the next book, you could hear your favorite classic fairy tale.  Even as an adult, I find myself wandering to the Little Golden Book rack at my local bookstore to see which books are available.  A few years ago, I was inspired to create my own book covers based on movies and TV shows that I loved growing up. I like to use stories that I feel would never otherwise have a chance at becoming a Little Golden book.  As a parent, I can’t wait to show my kids the beloved movies and series I grew up watching, but seeing as how they are 3 and 6, I guess I HAVE to wait to show them The Shining.

Bio:
Hi!  I’m Ryan.  I like to think of myself as a creative person.  When I’m not thinking of my next big project, I’m either drawing or hangin’ out with my family!

I grew up in Riverside, CA and graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a degree in Fine Arts Illustration.  I freelance all over Los Angeles for studios such as Nickelodeon, Warner Brothers, Titmouse, Disney and Dreamworks. My style is often described as humorous and lighthearted, which is always great to hear because it’s how I view life and how I represent myself through my art.

I also am a huge comedy nerd who performs improv all over Los Angeles. This art form has surprisingly helped me become a better artist by helping me let go of my fear of the unknown.

I love being an artist, it can be hard sometimes, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
