Get ready to submit to A Night of Animation with The TAG Foundation + Silver Lake Shorts. This special screening work by TAG artists will be presented on May 10, 2024, at El Cid in Silver Lake.

“We are excited to be partnering with Silver Lake Shorts on a TAG artists screening night! Spotlighting the independent work our members have created is not only important to recognize individual accomplishments, but also to support the animation community at large. Do you have an independent project you’ve worked on that is screaming to be seen? How about a finished pilot that never got a green light? Or even a finished student short that shows your own style? We want to see it! Let’s show the community what you can do!” – Jeanette Moreno King, TAG President

This exciting event will be open for submissions soon. In the meantime, check out a few preliminary guidelines so you’ll be ready:

1) All submissions must be animated. Animation featuring some live action is acceptable.

2) Be prepared to let The TAG Foundation and Silver Lake Shorts know whether you’ll be able to attend the screening.

3) Any short that is longer than 10 minutes will be harder to program, but feel free to submit anyway.

4) If selected, all commercial/private property including all trademark/copyrighted materials shown or recorded on the project are the responsibility of the filmmaker.

5) Only online screeners will be considered suitable submission material.

6) If selected, you must provide stills which will be used for promotional purposes on all of The TAG Foundation and Silver Lake Shorts social media.

Silver Lake Shorts is a Los Angeles short film screening series that runs for 80 minutes per screening. It takes place once a month and has been an ongoing series since July 2019. The screenings are held at the historic El Cid in Silver Lake.
